By joining the Montreal Bike Coalition you support our activities aimed at developing the bicycle’s place as a means of transportation in the Greater Montreal region. Members also have direct access to receive news about and participate in our initiatives. Regular members also obtain a voting right at our assemblies.

Several initiatives over the past few years have moved things forward: participation in the working group organised by Quebec’s Ministry of Transport to reform the Quebec Highway Safety Code; our ‘I Love Bixi’ campaign that contributed to the service being maintained in Montreal; the organisation of a bicycle debate during the 2013 Municipal elections, and others.

The Coalition also sits on the City of Montreal Bicycle Committee which allows us to represent the concerns of our members directly to decision takers, to concretely support initiatives brought forth by local groups and establish strong ties with other associations interested in active transportation issues. In fact, since its creation in 2012, the Coalition is regularly cited in various media, always with the objective of promoting the place of those who get around on bicycles.

Finally, the Montreal Bike Coalition contributes to bringing together all those who want to act to improve the safety of cyclists and supports different citizen and group initiatives. Notably the Coalition offers the opportunity to members of participating in the Montreal Bike Show each February. Each member increases our strength to act in favour of cyclists: Have your voice heard!
